Sure, good idea, but when, where and how often? 

The more sex partners you have, the more often you should get tested.

If you have any casual partners, it’s recommended that you get tested at least once a year.

If you have a lot of sexual partners, it’s recommended that you get tested every 3-6 months.

Having a test reduces the chances of having an undiagnosed STI that can harm your own health as well as increase your risk of picking up or passing on HIV.
